Little Spokane Tour 2012!

[singlepic id=731 w=240 h=240 float=left] The Little Spokane River Artist Studio Tour is Saturday, September 29th, 10 a.m. - 5 p.m.

It's almost Tour time again! This year, I will once again bring my 6" x 6" landscape pastels, many of which are of Little Spokane River locations. This year my landscapes have beautiful new (still silver) frames. As always, come early for the best selection!

I will also have a number of small pieces in my older style of silver frames at special, Tour-only prices, plus many other special prices on a variety of work. I'm trying to make room in my studio for a new body of work and new frames, so please help me out and take advantage of these Tour specials!

I'm at Studio #1 again this year, and once again, you can find me in the yard. See you on the 29th!

Little Scenes, Little Spokane

[singlepic id=529 w=240 h=240 float=left] The Little Spokane River Artist Studio Tour is Saturday, September 24th, 10 a.m. - 5 p.m.

This year I decided to do something a little different... I've created a limited number of 6" x 6" landscape and tree pastels especially for the Tour. Most are framed in wide, silver plein-aire frames, but I will mat a handful to offer at a special price for the event. Framed pieces range from $175 to $195, and matted pieces will be $95. Come early for the best selection!

The landscapes are the beginning of a new project, and some will become the basis for larger works. It's been years since I've painted these subjects, so this is a fun and fresh diversion. You can preview the pieces in the gallery below.

Of course, I'll have several pieces of my more familiar work on hand as well---some at special prices for the Tour.

I'm at Studio #1 again this year, but not in the gazebo—find me in the yard. See you on the 24th!

The All-New Studio Sale

[singlepic id=441 w=320 h=320 float=left] Looking for something new? Check out my Studio Sale page. I decided to change it up a bit---instead of older, matted work I will be selling all-new, framed, ready-to-hang miniature pastels. The pastels are all 6" x 6", framed in a silver plein-air frame just like Peachberries 3 (left). The frame's outer dimensions are 11"x 11". The glazing is done with nearly-invisible anti-reflective glass. These pieces are great alone or in groups of two or three. I offer a small discount on multiple pieces---contact me if you are interested.

Sorry---Peachberries 3 is sold, but there are several other pieces available and I will paint more soon.

Introducing the Studio Sale

[singlepic id=170 w=320 h=360 float=left]A lot can happen in five years. For me, the last five years have brought eighteen art fairs, eight solo shows, three new series, four different framing styles, a new medium and an ongoing string of group exhibitions. One inevitable result of all of this activity, as it turns out, is orphans. Orphaned paintings, I mean. Orphans appear for many reasons. Maybe they are part of an old series and look out of place with my newer work. Maybe they went on the road a few times too many, and ended up with a damaged frame. Maybe they are in a perfectly good frame from three frame styles ago, and now look odd in my booth. Maybe they were shown several times, or maybe not at all, before I was on to the next new thing.

Regardless of how they got there, all of these paintings now sit in storage, waiting for homes. Normally this would be the time I would have a studio sale. But if you've ever actually seen my studio, you know why this is not exactly practical. I can barely fit myself and my current artwork in the 10' x 11' room I call my studio, let alone sale merchandise, customers and a table of wine and hors d'oeuvres.

So I'm doing the next best thing: a virtual studio sale. Well, parts of it will have to be virtual anyway. Like the wine. But the art is very real, and I will be offering it for sale here on my site. At the right under Pages, you'll see a new page titled, appropriately, "Studio Sale." This link takes you to all my posted sale items, each with a Paypal button for easy purchasing.

All artwork offered in the Studio Sale will be shipped matted and ready to frame. Prices are comparable to unframed work I sell in my art fair booth. Every piece is an original, hand made, one-of-a-kind work of art.

Go ahead and take a look. I hope you find something you like, and can give one of my babies a home.
